A Birthday Move

My first day in Canada was very special. We landed in this beautiful country on my dad's birthday. My Aunt and her family picked us from the airport and took us to McDonalds. Back home, the drinks were also given with our food. So when I had to choose my drink from the soda fountain, I stood there for almost 15 minutes figuring out how to use it. It was even more embarassing when I saw one of the McDonald employ looking at me. It wasn't until all this happened that my cousin came to my rescue. So, my first hours in Canada were pretty embarassing. We reached my Aunt's place at dusk. We took a short nap and the next thing we did was celebarte the family man's birthday. We cut a cake, took lots of photos, and smashed cake onto each others faces. All the fun we had made up for my embarassment at McD.
We never had Walmarts or Sharpies or EOS's back home. So every time we went to Walmart, I would always go to the stationery section and just stare at the 24-pack Sharpies and all those Martha Stewart craft materials or I would be in the Health & Beauty section checking out lipbalms like Baby Lips or EOS. So if I ever got lost, my mom knew where to find me. I got my first EOS after convincing my mom that every Canadian has one since its all-natural. I was pretty proud of my convincing skills after that.
We didn't have a vehicle for a month or two so my family and I often took evening walks to the school park or to the library. Most of the days, we would go to my brother's school playground and run around, acting like kids. I also had the chance to meet few people at the park. They were really happy to know that I had moved just a few weeks ago. It was lots of fun playing in the park till the sun set. I love our local library! It's just an amazing place to be when you have nothing to do at home. We often took "family walks" to the library. My dad was amazed to find lots of books on technical and mechanical stuff. He isn't much of a reader but he turned into one after we came to Canada. Thanks to our amazing local library!!
That was basically how my first few weeks were. Exploring this majestic wonderland. The name of this city sounded weird to me at first but then I realized. . . Kezia loves the Kitchen. .er. .I mean, Kezia loves Kitchener!
